The Grumpy Wiener started with a detour, a dash of resilience, and a whole lot of flavor. Founded by Noah Veon, a Quinby, South Carolina native who found his post-college dreams temporarily upended by the pandemic, this humble hot dog cart quickly became a local sensation.
Rather than let his plans fall by the wayside, Noah channeled his entrepreneurial spirit, fired up the grill, and launched The Grumpy Wiener with nothing more than a cart, a burning drive, and Aunt Vickie’s secret chili recipe—the very ingredient that sets his dogs apart.
Noah didn’t just want to sling hot dogs; he wanted to build something that brought people together. Fueled by a love for his community and a knack for innovation, The Grumpy Wiener has grown from one cart to multiple locations, winning awards and garnering headlines across South Carolina. What began as a temporary fix, turned into a small empire, built on good food, great company, and a lot of heart.

The Name
The name "The Grumpy Wiener" carries deep family roots for Noah. Inspired by the tenacity and passion his parents have always shown, Noah knew his hot dog stand needed a name with character.
His grandparents, lovingly known as Papa and Bia, have been a constant source of inspiration, and it was Bia who coined the playful, memorable name that now proudly adorns the business.
Much like Alma at Wahlburgers, Noah’s family is right there with him—his parents and grandparents often by his side, slinging dogs and chatting with the loyal customers who make The Grumpy Wiener more than just a food cart—it’s a family affair. For Noah, his bond with Bia runs deep, and every time he sees the name on his cart, he’s reminded of the love, laughter, and wisdom she’s shared along the way.
